USA Practices

SPRING PRACTICE INFORMATION

Practices for all spring USA teams start the week of Monday March 28th. The final practice schedules, team assignments, field layout maps are available for download below.

All practices will be held at Helder Park - HOWEVER - it is closed until Monday, April 11th.

Practices from Monday 3/28 through Thursday 4/7 (the last day of spring break) will be at the West Ottawa West Ottawa South High School (large field teams), West Ottawa Harbor Lights Middle School (medium field teams), and the Soccer Stop Sportsplex (small field teams). Refer to the schedule or contact your team coach, to identify the location assigned to your team. Click HERE to get a map of the field location and field layouts.

From Monday, April 11th through the end of the season, teams will practice at Helder Park. Click HERE to get a map of the field layouts.

Games start the weekend of April 16th. Game infomation (dates, times, and locations) are posted on the GVSA website at www.gvsoccer.org. Additional information can be found on our Game Information page.

Holland Charter Township - Providers of Helder Fields

The USA home fields at Helder Park are managed by Holland Charter Township. Any decisions related to field closures and general use are made by the HCT Recreation Staff. Informational posting related to the Helder Fields can be found on their website.

General Practice Information

USA teams typically practice twice per week, with each practice lasting 90 minutes. Practices for most teams are held at Holland Charter Township's fields at Helder Park near Zeeland.

Fall practice starts in mid August. Fall games are played in September and October. Spring practice starts in March. Spring games are played in April, May and the first part of June.

USA & GVSA Joint Respect Campaign

Our Club has always expected its players, coaches, leaders, and parents to display the highest level of sportsmanship, respect, and good character. The GVSA leauge has launched and is growing their RESPECT CAMPAIGN across the entire league. The Club is excited to be at te forefront of this important initiative. USA players, families, and coaches have always been held to the Club's Code of Conduct ... now, in combination with our league's Respect Campaign, each player, family, and coach MUST have a signed Code on file with the Club. Concusion Awareness and Managment Program

Our Club is founded on putting the players first - their health is paramount. The Club has taken steps in the past to share information with our coaches and families about concussions and their managment ... now, by embracing the State and Federal Concussion Awareness programs, the Club has made more information available to parents and players, are ensuring that all coaches maintain awareness by taking a Federally developed online training program, and have put in place a management process for use by coaches in the event of a potential concussive head injury.
